I discovered two more daffodils blooming today: Van Sion and Canaliculatis. The chives have buds, as does the crab apple. All this is very exciting, as nothing in my garden besides the big oaks and hickories, and a couple of shrubs planted by the prior owner has been here more than a year.
Van Sion:
The pic of canaliculatis came out too blurry to show, but check out my crazy goldfinch (?), who I can get close enough to touch. I wonder if something is wrong with her; she seems too tame, but she can fly quite well when she gets a mind to.
Wow, you are so lucky to get that close to a goldfinch! I love them so much, I leave all the seed heads on my cone flowers for them and they reward me by flying all around and twittering.
I took some more pictures last night – with the bird in my hand. I just worry, because if I can get that close, so can a dog or cat.
