My name is Kirsten. I live with my husband, 5 kitties, and a Yorkie in Magnolia, in the piney woods of southwest Arkansas. I garden on almost a half acre of sandy loam in zone 7B.
When I am not gardening, and doing that pesky little activity called work, I design and make jewelry. I started making jewelry in college and selling it in boutiques in Blacksburg, Va. I am a magpie, drawn by sparkly faceted stones, especially in purple and orange. I do a lot of wire-wrap work, but I have recently gotten into metalworking. The colors of my pieces are usually inspired by the natural and cultural beauty of the places I have lived and visited. My inspiration may come from the muted tones of the mountains in the fall, the flashy brightness of a Mardi Gras parade, or the sea of school colors at a college football game. I recently started posting my jewelry for sale online. Please check out my shops at Artfire and Etsy. I am a member of the Crafting for Animals Guild. 5% of each sale will be donated to the Columbia County Animal Protection Society.
